Hello

Cultural organizations can change the world. For many years, I was Artistic Director of Creede Repertory Theatre, a nationally acclaimed professional arts organization in the most unlikely of places. I witnessed firsthand how a nonprofit can drive the regional economy, create partnerships, and contribute to a culture that brings people together. I specialize in small to medium-budget organizations serving in unique communities.

Nonprofit and Arts Consulting

Why bring me in?

Nonprofits and foundations generally have a very lean staff. There’s never enough support for core organizational management areas like fundraising, marketing, finance, human resources, or technology. Nonprofits also need training to provide their staff and board with ongoing professional development or to facilitate organizational change.

Some examples of nonprofit consulting projects:

  • Grant-writing

  • Conference planning

  • Training for board or staff

  • Strategic planning

  • Workshop and retreat facilitation

  • Coaching

  • Copywriting

  • Partnership building

  • Branding/marketing

  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion

  • Working with AEA and other unions

  • Artist and other employment contracts

  • Programming

How does this work?

I can help you grow, sustain, or change in the ways that are right for your organization. Sometimes you need an experienced professional to guide the creation of a strategic plan, help you develop your board, or discover a new way to move forward. Sometimes you need a project manager for a specific initiative. I bring fresh eyes and many years of experience as an executive of a successful nonprofit arts organization.

The short answer is that every organization is unique. We can find a consulting relationship that works for you.
